Update to Wholesale Power Costs due to Winter Storm Uri
We worked with our wholesale power supplier, Golden Spread Electric Cooperative, on a long-term solution to reduce the immediate impact of the high fuel costs experienced during winter storm Uri. Steps were taken to spread February’s 2021 fuel price spike over a longer period of time. What does this mean for you?
On a typical residential bill, you can expect a price adder ranging from $0.006 – $0.0120 to the market price of fuel each month until Golden Spread’s February 2021 bill has been paid.
This plan will lessen the financial burden of the spike in fuel to our membership by spreading it over time, rather than collecting it all in one month.
